Appointment of John Ako as Project Manager

Heath Goldfields Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of John Ako as Project Manager. This critical role is strategically established to lead the rehabilitation and development of our sulphide treatment plant at the Bogoso–Prestea Mine.

The sulphide treatment plant is central to Heath Goldfields’ long-term strategic vision. Its development will unlock significant sulphide mineral resources, extend the operational life of the mine, and position Bogoso–Prestea as a modern, efficient, and sustainable mining operation. This initiative represents a cornerstone in our structured plan to fully restore the mine and unlock its full technical and economic potential for the benefit of our stakeholders, host communities, and Ghana.

Prior to joining Heath Goldfields Limited, John served as Project Manager at Asante Gold Corporation, where he successfully led complex capital projects, including the development and execution of a sulphide recovery initiative. This experience has provided him with deep technical, operational, and governance expertise required for the successful delivery of sulphide processing infrastructure within an operating mining environment. He has also worked with Gold Fields Ghana and Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd., further strengthening his knowledge of Ghanaian mining operations.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®), globally recognised credentials that reflect his commitment to excellence in project delivery.

John’s appointment reflects Heath Goldfields’ deliberate investment in world-class Ghanaian leadership to drive our most strategic initiatives.

With his leadership, we are confident in our ability to successfully deliver the sulphide treatment plant and unlock the full potential of the historic Bogoso–Prestea Mine.

Please join us in congratulating John on his appointment and wishing him every success in this important role.
