Heath Goldfields Limited, led by Managing Director Patrick Appiah Mensah, visited the Prestea Police Command to strengthen collaboration on community safety and security. The engagement reinforced shared commitments to partnership, open dialogue, and peaceful communities within the Prestea–Bogoso operational area.

On Wednesday 17th September 2025, Heath Goldfields Bogoso-Prestea Gold Mine was honored to welcome 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗵 𝗞𝗼𝗳𝗶 𝗕𝘂𝗮𝗵, 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀, to our Bogoso-Prestea Gold Mine. He was accompanied by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗰 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗵, 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗘𝗢 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗞𝗼𝗳𝗶 𝗔𝗱𝗷𝗲𝗶, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀.

The Minister’s visit was to inspect progress of work towards the reopening of the Mine, evaluate the company’s compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety protocols.

The visit marks a significant milestone in Heath Goldfields’ journey to restore and revitalize this historic mine.

The Minister was taken on guided tour of the Processing Plant, where ore is turned into gold concentrate. He also had the opportunity to interact with some Mine employees. The Minister expressed his appreciation and commended Heath Goldfields for its investment and operational success towards sustainable mining for economic growth.

In his remarks, Mr. Patrick Appiah Mensah, Managing Director of Heath Goldfields, emphasized the company’s commitment to safety and sustainability:

“Since taking over in January 2025, our top priority has been safety. We’ve stabilized the site, pumped out long-flooded underground workings, and rebuilt critical infrastructure. Community recruitment and training are well underway, and compliance is being rigorously enforced. We are proud to be part of this socio-economic development of this region and the nation at large. Visible progress is being made and this is just the beginning.”

He reaffirmed that the Bogoso-Prestea Mine has always been central to the life of the community, and its future will be built on responsible mining and sustainable development.

We deeply appreciate the Minister’s support and the Minerals Commission’s continued guidance. Their presence is a powerful reminder of the responsibility we carry and the opportunity we have to make a lasting impact.

Appointment of HSE Manager of Bogoso Prestea Gold Mine

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Samuel Morkeh Arthur (CEnv, MISEP, EnvDipNEBOSH, FGhISEP) as Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager for the Bogoso Prestea Mine, effective 15th September 2025.

Samuel is an accomplished Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) leader with 22 years of professional experience, including 14 years in the mining industry. He holds an MSc in Environmental Resources Management and a BSc in Agricultural Engineering, along with multiple professional certifications, including NEBOSH Diplomas and Certificates, ISO Lead Auditor accreditations (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001), Radiation Safety certification, and the Ghana Minerals Commission Certificates of Competency as Senior Officer, Superintendent, and HSE Manager.
