Heath Goldfields Ltd Appoints Okai Mickson as Finance Manager of Bogoso Prestea Gold Mine

Heath Goldfields Ltd is pleased pleased to announce the appointment of Okai Mickson as Finance Manager.

Mr. Mickson is a highly accomplished finance professional whose career spans more than 18 years across the mining, legal, property, and consulting sectors. He brings to Heath a rare blend of financial leadership, systems expertise, and operational insight, backed by a proven track record of strengthening financial governance and delivering value in complex business environments.

He has held progressive roles with several reputable institutions, most notably Gold Fields Ghana Ltd, where he successfully led financial operations at the Tarkwa and Damang mines and managed a multi-million-dollar cost structure with precision. He went on to serve as Group Finance Manager at NGUVU Mining, where he provided strategic oversight across four operating companies and played a central role in ERP integration and performance improvement. His more recent consultancy engagements in the United Kingdom and the United States have further demonstrated his capability to operate at the intersection of finance, technology, and strategy.

Mr. Mickson led the Company’s finance function with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, systems integration, and audit coordination. His role is instrumental to establishing the financial and operational discipline required for the Company’s successful transition from care and maintenance into full-scale production. He will also support executive decision-making by ensuring financial visibility, risk control, and alignment between financial performance and corporate objectives.

 

Mr. Mickson holds a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Salford, UK, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Management Studies, Kumasi. He is a Certified Sage Accpac Consultant, a SAP S/4HANA Project Systems Specialist, and has completed executive development training with Harvard Business Publishing. He is also part-qualified with ACCA Ghana.

Appointment of HSE Manager of Bogoso Prestea Gold Mine

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Samuel Morkeh Arthur (CEnv, MISEP, EnvDipNEBOSH, FGhISEP) as Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager for the Bogoso Prestea Mine, effective 15th September 2025.

Samuel is an accomplished Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) leader with 22 years of professional experience, including 14 years in the mining industry. He holds an MSc in Environmental Resources Management and a BSc in Agricultural Engineering, along with multiple professional certifications, including NEBOSH Diplomas and Certificates, ISO Lead Auditor accreditations (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001), Radiation Safety certification, and the Ghana Minerals Commission Certificates of Competency as Senior Officer, Superintendent, and HSE Manager.
